Surf, Eat, Party, Repeat: Gamma Epsilon at Kook Fest

Immediately following the Friday Club at brod Ian Beltrano’s house, some Gamma Epsilon brods and sis took off to Baler for the last day of Kook Fest 2025, the third annual surfing competition hosted by Bay’s Inn. This event was special, as brod John Dee Bustamante and his family run Bay’s Inn, with three of his sons proudly part of Gamma Epsilon. The festival itself was founded by brod Jeth Bustamante of Beta Sigma.

Sabang Beach was alive with energy as brods and sis hit the waves. Some took on the challenge of surfing lessons, eager for an adventure. With lessons at ₱500 per hour and board rentals at ₱250 per hour, it was an experience worth every peso.

Others simply relaxed and enjoyed the Eastern breeze and salty waters.

After resting from our long journey from Manila, we refueled with a breakfast buffet at Bay’s Inn, featuring daing na bangus, adobo, Filipino salad, pastil, and soft, buttery pancakes. For lunch and dinner, we headed to The Sausage Kook and Hungry Surfer, where brod Sonny curated the breakfast menu. A crowd favorite was the bleu cheese burger, the perfect mix of sweet and salty.

As night fell on March 15, the real party began. The Sausage Kook and Hungry Surfer transformed into a club, and the streets turned into a dance floor. Shots of tequila, gin, and whiskey made the rounds as brods and sis celebrated long into the early hours of March 16.

Morning Waves to Shake Off the Night

The next day, with hangovers lingering, we found the best cure—another round of swimming and surfing. The cool saltwater jolted us awake as we paddled out once more, chasing the waves and making the most of our last moments at Sabang Beach.

Kook Fest 2025 was a weekend of waves, great food, and even better company. Until next year, Sabang!
